Landsdown Park Academy hosts life-saving training

Landsdown Park Academy staged a bleed kit training session, engaging both staff and guests from the Bristol Bears RFU and the dance troupe the Dark Angels in potentially life-saving first aid techniques.

This essential training was led by anti-knife crime campaigner Leanne Reynolds from Bristol-based Safeguard Medical.

The initiative was part of a broader effort to raise awareness during Knife Crime Awareness Week, highlighting the critical importance of bleed kit training in saving lives. The academy aims to spread the message and ensure that more people are prepared to respond effectively in emergency situations.

Leanne Reynolds, who has been tirelessly campaigning against knife crime, provided comprehensive training on the use of bleed kits. Her expertise and dedication to the cause ensured all participants left with a thorough understanding of how to use these life-saving tools.

Paul Todd, Principal of Landsdown Park Academy, said: “Landsdown Park is committed to the safety and well-being of our community. This training session is a crucial step in equipping our staff and partners with the skills they need to respond to emergencies.

“We are extremely grateful to Leanne Reynolds and Safeguard Medical for their support and expertise.”
