These values are embedded across school life and underpin our curriculum, relationships and personal development offer across both our primary and secondary provision.
We aim to help pupils recognise their own worth, respect themselves and others, and grow into confident, well-rounded members of society who show respect and tolerance to all, regardless of background.
As a Pupil Referral Unit, we recognise that many of our pupils arrive with disrupted educational experiences and may need targeted support to rebuild trust, confidence and positive relationships. Promoting British values is therefore important to our work and supports pupils to develop as respectful, responsible and reflective young people who are prepared for life in modern Britain.
Pupils at Lansdown Park Academy know their voice matters. They are encouraged to share their views through pupil voice, class discussions and restorative conversations. Pupils learn to express their opinions respectfully, listen to others and understand that everyone has the right to be heard.

Students used the Ellis Genge Fund to vote for an experience of their choice, selecting a visit to Bristol Hippodrome to see Mamma Mia!
Consistent routines help students feel safe, settled, and ready to learn. Clear expectations and shared classroom rules support positive behaviour and learning. Our relational and restorative approach helps pupils reflect, repair relationships, and move forward positively.
Regular visits from local police officers, fire crews, and health services help reinforce these messages.
FACT: 100% of parents agree or strongly agree that their child feels safe at school.
At Lansdown Park Academy, pupils are encouraged to explore their choices in a safe and supportive environment where they feel confident to develop independence and express themselves. Working within clear boundaries, each pupil is given opportunities through daily routines, classroom activities and personalised support to make decisions, choose appropriate challenges and build their confidence.
We support pupils in understanding their rights, responsibilities and personal freedoms through our PSHE programme and weekly assemblies. They learn how to exercise these rights in a safe and respectful way, recognising the impact their choices have on their own wellbeing and that of others. This helps them to grow into caring, thoughtful individuals who can engage positively with the world around them.
Respect is at the heart of our school community. We promote a culture where differences are respected and valued. Pupils are taught to value themselves and others. Through our curriculum and wider experiences pupils learn about different cultures, faiths, beliefs and backgrounds. They are supported to understand, respect and celebrate difference, helping them prepare for life in modern Britain.
